Create a Collection

Overview

A Collection (that is, a group of related Documents) lets you aggregate Documents in one location. You can utilize Collections to group particular sets of material (content) to later explore individually through Chats (asking questions to a Collection).

Instructions

The following steps describe how to create a Collection.

  1. On the h2oGPTe navigation menu, click Collections.
  2. Click + New collection.
  3. In the Collection name box, enter a name for the Collection.
  4. In the Description box, enter a description for the Collection.
note

If the Description box is left empty, the system will auto-generate a description based on the uploaded documents, configurable prompts, and the number of chunks of the Collection.

  1. Select an embedding model from the Embedding model drop-down menu.
note
  • h2oGPTe supports 3 embedding models:
    • English (bge-large-en-v1.5)
    • Multilingual (bge-m3)
    • English legacy (instructor-large)
  • You can select an embedding model only once, when creating a new Collection.
  1. Select a prompt template from the Prompt template drop-down menu to customize the prompts used for the Collection.
    • Select Defaults (English) to use the default h2oGPTe prompt template.
    • Select Funny and sarcastic (English) to create a humorous personality that incorporates sarcasm into responses.
    • Select Plain and simple (English) to generate straightforward answers that are easy to understand.
  2. Click Create.
